This exam is suitable if you want to demonstrate basic German at level A1. You can introduce yourself, ask and answer simple questions, understand short texts and communicate in familiar everyday situations.

Do you have basic German skills? Zertifikat Deutsch / telc Deutsch B1 is the appropriate exam and is also recognised for German naturalisation.

For school pupils, we recommend telc Deutsch B1 Schule. telc Deutsch B1+ Beruf is suitable for professional contexts.

At B1 level, you can communicate in everyday life, while travelling and about familiar interests, describe experiences and goals, and explain your opinions.

Examination format

The written section assesses reading, listening, language structures and differentiated writing. In the oral section, you present complex topics, justify positions and discuss arguments confidently.

Before registering

Conditions of participation

For TELC exams at Sprachtreff Frankfurt.

  1. Registration is binding. You will receive confirmation by email after we receive it.
  2. The examination fee must be paid no later than five days after receipt of the invoice.
  3. Up to 15 days before the exam, you may change or cancel your booking for a fee of €75. After that, the full examination fee is due. In case of illness, rebooking is possible for a €75 administration fee if a medical certificate is submitted by 12 noon on the examination day.
  4. Candidates must present an identity card or passport before the exam.
  5. Mobile phones and other communication devices must be handed to the invigilator before the exam.
  6. Please arrive on time. Late arrivals cannot take part and the examination fee will not be refunded.
  7. The current examination regulations of telc gGmbH apply. Please note in particular Sections 5 and 6. View the telc examination regulations.
  8. We will inform you by email as soon as the results are available.
  9. Sprachtreff may cancel an exam in justified exceptional circumstances. The examination fee will be refunded; further claims are excluded.
